My world flipped in Nov 2020 when I was diagnosed with cancer in my throat, tongue, lymph nodes, salivary glands and esophagus. My oncologist told me the treatments were horrible but usually went well and that recurrence was uncommon.
I thought I had it beat until a few months ago. The same cancer had relocated to my liver and bile ducts. Since then, I’ve had two liver drains and a PICC line put in me. I’ve had one round of immunotherapy and chemotherapy begins Jan 5. I’ve been in Vanderbilt a total of 15 days since late November battling infection(s) trying to be able to start chemo.
We received lots of help from our wonderful friends and family both times this happened. But this time has been especially tough and the bills are piling up faster than 2020-2021. That’s why we are reaching out on gofundme. Any help is appreciated and any amount will help no matter the size.
I am battling (again) because I’m not ready to go yet. I want to see Audrey graduate. I want to see Megan graduate again. I want to walk my daughters down the aisle. I want to see my grand babies. The ups and downs since Fall 2020 have been enormous. When I think I’ve had more than I can handle, I dig a little deeper and keep moving forward. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, David.
