The Simpsons Open Adoption

We are happy to announce our dream of becoming a family has come true through open adoption. If you're unfamiliar with the process, an open adoption is where the birthparent(s) and adoptive parents choose each other.

Callan Malik Simpson was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on January 22, 2013 and weighed 6 lbs., 5 oz. Brandy and Travis lovingly placed him into our care two days later. We're extremely fortunate to spend Callan's first 10 days surrounded by our new extended family - Brandy, Travis and Grandma Paula. 

We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and well wishes from all our friends and family like you.

Open adoption is a wonderful way to start our family but it does mean additional expenses around $20,000 depending on a number of factors including agency fees, medical expenses, pregnancy-related birthmother expenses, travel, and legal expenses.

We are working with a nationwide, non-profit adoption agency (Independent Adoption Center or IAC) specializing in open adoptions. The IAC has great counselors who worked with Brandy and us every step of the way. Most of the agency fees we pay go directly to this non-profit organization.
