Therapy and Supports for Avery and Jackson Emde

Donation protected

Katie Emde is a mom from a small town in sask who has gave so much of her time to help so many family’s with children on the Autism spectrum and now is our time to help support her family.

When her oldest son Avery was diagnosed with autism, she saw how bad and flawed the system is for children who need extra help and she hasn’t stopped pushing for these resources. She started Advocating & helping others in 2016 and making a facebook page in 2017.  (A Journey for Avery) Through this Facebook page Katie has connected and helped 100’s of a families across sask! She has raised 1000’s for non profits and always happy to help any fundraisers, raising money for other families in need and even organizing a fundraiser to buy Christmas presents for family’s who were having a hard time durning the holidays.

Her advocating and pushing for resources for kids on the Autism Spectrum is endless! It’s very sad how limited therapy is for Saskatchewan. Wait lists for free services are years long! Forcing parents to do paid private services but many can’t financially spend 1000’s in therapy monthly. Many people are unaware at how expensive these private therapy’s are. Therapy literally starts at  100 - 150 dollars per hour, sometimes even more. That adds up to the 1000’s in no time because therapy isn’t always just one hour it’s hours every day, every week, every month. If your able to help in any way your support is appreciated so much!

Here is the therapy’s and support her children need to live a happy healthy life.

Jackson requires Autism , ODD, OCD  & ADHD & Pandas  Screening & Assessment. Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, Behavioral therapy & feeding support. Physio & chiro spinal adjustments. And Home Supports.

Avery: Chiro Spinal Adjustments, Speech Therapy, Mobile Lift For Bathing, Behavioral therapist, Water Therapy, Home Supports

“They say it takes strength to raise a child on the spectrum.

What do you do when all your strength is gone?

What do you do when you have nothing left and feel like a empty shell?

This is life as we know it for our family.

Avery is 9 years old & diagnosed with severe non verbal autism.

Jackson is 4 years old & is one complex little boy & undiagnosed.

Life has became extremely complicated & overwhelming.

As we live in a constant state of chaos with both boys.

Both boys are in need of intensive therapy & daily consistent support to be able to develop coping skills & social skills along with communication  & medical intervention & equipment.

Our life use to have more joy then chaos. Now because the boys are needed much more then anything we could have ever imagined we are just living a life that has a never ending amount of stress that is taking a toll on our families mental health & we are unable to financially get both boys the support they need now.”
