My Name is Tiffany. Mother to two girls (17) and (15) and wife to Arlan.
I never thought I would be doing something like this because, although we have struggled, we have always managed to get by. That all changed on December 2nd. My husband, who up until this point has always been the healthiest among us, collapsed on the floor in great pain and was taken to the hospital. After several scans, tests, fear, and days of waiting, our family got the worst news possible. Arlan was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He is only 45yrs old.
The world just turned upside down for us in an instant. Our family is no stranger to loss after losing most of my family from 2018 to 2022, and now life is taking someone from us again. All I can think about is hoping he lives long enough to see my children graduate from high school, and the overwhelming sadness that my children have to go through this.
Along with the shock and overwhelming sadness is the crushing fear that, financially, we are not prepared for what is to come, as my husband is our sole provider of income for our family, and we have never been able to afford life insurance.
Living on one income is very tight, and we live paycheck to paycheck. Our daughters have special needs and have required more care, so I have stayed home so I could provide that extra care. Later, as they got older, I had medical limitations come up that have made it difficult for me to return to work.
I have no idea what the future holds as far as his care and how much time we will have, but he will be doing chemotherapy in the hopes of getting as much time as we can. I am asking if anyone can donate and help us get through this next transition so we can focus less on keeping a roof over our heads and more on giving him the most of the time we have left together.
Any money donated will solely go to help with household bills, medical bills, and living expenses.
