In a small village in Swabi, Pakistan, where girls have long been denied access to education, a quiet revolution is underway—one that is powered by love, community, and your belief in change.

The Swabi School, the very first girls’ school in my home village, was founded by three generations of women—my grandmother, my mother, and now me. Over the years, we’ve grown from a dream into a thriving, safe space for hundreds of children.

This past year, I returned to the village alongside dear friends to spend time with the students and their families, hear their stories, and understand what’s truly needed. What we witnessed was both heartbreaking and deeply hopeful.

Despite facing political instability, religious extremism, and displacement due to natural disasters, these children and their families are choosing education—again and again.

But the school is at risk.

With rising costs in Pakistan and a growing student body, we’re struggling to stay afloat. Without immediate support, we risk turning children away. Children who, without this school, are at risk of early marriage, child labor, and worse.

This matters because I spent a lot of my childhood here. Through these children, I know what it means to not have a school to walk into. Today, little girls run into this school with dreams in their eyes, and we want to keep that door open for every single one of them.

It truly does take a village. And this school is proof of that.
