Hello, My name is Crystal Showers, Wife of Michael Showers.
I created this GoFundMe to try and lift the heavy burden being placed on my father in law Jerry Showers and and his other two kids Cassandra Showers and Ryan Showers. Their mother was recently hospitalized with COVID and the medical bills are starting to rack up. Below is the full story. Thank you.
On Tuesday May 11th beloved wife and mother Dawn Showers was hospitalized due to severe complications with COVID, little did we know how bad it truly was. Wednesday May 12th she was moved to the ICU on oxygen because they were unable to keep her oxygen levels high enough, her fever was running about 102 and she was in and out of consciousness. Thursday May 13th at 5am her breathing declined fast, the oxygen alone wasn’t enough. Dawn FaceTimed her children and husband before being put on the ventilator, she was very out of breath and so scared, but most of all scared for her children and husband who’s world is being turned upside down. Friday May 14th at 9:15am the nurse updated there were no significant improvements nor had she started to decline. Saturday May 15th Dawn had developed pneumonia, but her vitals all seemed stable. Sunday May 16th her husband Jerry Showers received a call, her vitals were fluctuating to much, she has double pneumonia as well as a bacteria that can cause blood clots. She was given proper antibiotics but they called to get the okay to Airlift her to Butterworth Heart Center where they could put her on a better ventilator and if she doesn’t improve can then place her on an Echmo Treatment. This is where they will bypass her heart and lungs and circulates oxygen into her blood by oxygenating outside of her body.
We are praying everyday that she improves and can come home and are so thankful to those who have prayed for her as well. We know no amount of money will make this go away and bring her back home, but it can help with the extensive medical bills and other bills that don’t stop just because your hospitalized. With COVID there unfortunately isn’t much we can do for her, one thing we can do for her and her husband is alleviate some of the financial burden associated with everything going on.
All donations will go to Dawn and Jerry Showers to help pay for Medical bills and home expenses.
