Help Fund New LA Theatre: "The Rhythm of Mourning"

Tax deductible
We are raising money to fund our newest production and to sustain our future as an up-and-coming theatre company in Los Angeles. We believe in our mission of bringing you world-class, electrifying and honest storytelling. We need your help.

About The Rhythm of Mourning:
In September of 2023 we had the amazing opportunity to mount Bethesda Repertory Theatre’s first production. This could not have been done without the outpour of support from generous donors. We are so excited to bring this acclaimed show back to audiences.

The Rhythm of Mourning is a new play featuring music and dance. After a two-month hiatus, a young woman returns to a dance studio that once brought her immense joy and comfort. Grappling with the recent death of her only brother and the long estrangement from her family and subsequent blame for his untimely passing, she must contend with the terms of life she has been dealt, or submit to her own darkness and dangerous ideations.

We will be performing at Stomping Ground LA for six performances in May 2024, and we are very excited to be extending the production as an official participant of the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June.

About Bethesda Repertory:
Named after the famous Angel of the Waters fountain in New York’s Central Park, Andrew Rudy Galindo and Michael William Gomez began to conceive a new theatre company in early 2022. Having both performed on the prominent stages of the Los Angeles area and unceasing passion for attending live theatre, the two founders had enough collective experience and love for the art form that it seemed an inevitable venture. They began to curate a group of talented and dynamic artist friends to gather once a month and work on material, a developmental workshop dubbed The Rehearsal. This ensemble has grown into a unified, focused Company of theatre creators. Andrew’s & Michael’s vision is to bring to LA what they feel is missing in its current theatre scene, and to carve out a space for the community that uplifts and invigorates.

Bethesda Repertory’s mission is to provide healing and inspiration to our community through the medium of theatre. We believe in using this art form to illuminate our society’s present-day challenges. Our intention is to amplify the voices of the underrepresented communities of diverse backgrounds.
