The Meeder Family House Fire Fund

Monday morning, January 18th 2021, around 8am, a fire started in the basement of the Meeder family home located in Cranberry Township, PA. The fire spread within seconds. Luckily, every one escaped unharmed. Dorothy and Brian were out at an early doctor's appointment. Sarah, G Naoma, and the dog, Emiko, all go out safely with barely enough time to call the fire department. The fire department arrived within 10 minutes, but the fire spread too quickly.
For those of you that are familiar with our family, you'll know that my grandfather, Clyde Meeder, built that house with his own two hands. He was a brick layer by trade. Together, he and my grandmother raised 5 children in that house. It's the house we lived at until I was 6, and again when I was out of High School. It's the house I spent almost every weekend at growing up so I could hang out with my grandparents. It's the house that my family still called home until Monday.
With barely seconds to get out, not much was able to be taken. The basement was destroyed, leaving my eldest sister with only the clothes on the back, her phone and her dog. The upstairs is heavily damaged by smoke and debris from the rescue. They will not be able to get in to see what is salvageable until after an assessment is done.
Insurance is putting my family up in a near by hotel until further notice, but they will need additional assistance in replacing basic necessities including clothes, shoes, winter clothes, general food items, and any unforeseen expenses yet to come. Even the smallest donation will make a large impact to help my family rebuild their life after such a devastating loss.
Thank you to everyone who has already sent donations, reached out to check on us and everything in between. We truly are blessed with amazing friends and family. I believe in these times it's easy to get caught up in ourselves, but it truly takes a village and we've been shown what an amazing one we are apart of. I also want to especially say thank you to their neighbor, Cindy, who let us take over her house to recover and sort everything out.
