To overcome our current challenges, we have turned to crowdfunding. Simultaneously, we explore grants, sponsorships, and collaborations to maintain momentum. Your support is pivotal in helping us bring "The Dark Horse" project to life. Our goal is to achieve enough money to release the debut single by the end of 2023. Any donations are welcomed, and as an incentive to help us, we are offering the following:
Introduction:
We are more than just friends; we are a tight-knit family bonded by our love for music. As dedicated independent musicians, our collective experience spans over 15 years in the music industry. Today, we stand at a crucial juncture with our music project, "The Dark Horse," particularly our debut single "Drinking of You." Our journey has been fraught with challenges, from pandemic disruptions to financial calamity and personal losses, but our determination remains unwavering.
The Journey So Far:
Our path to this moment has been marked by hurdles, amplified by the global pandemic. Like so many, lockdowns impeded and delayed our recording sessions, including our recording with an awe-inspiring 21-piece string orchestra in Budapest, Hungary. Also, the music industry faced, and continues to face unprecedented setbacks, with cancelled live gigs and residencies, limited budgets and financial strain due to continued reticence for many establishments in Sydney to even employ live musicians at all. This has all been happening against the backdrop of the dramatic rising costs of living in Sydney and the threat of a looming recession.
The Crossroads:
Despite pouring our hearts, time, and hard-earned money, favours and resources into our project, we are confronted with the reality that our creation might never see the light of day. Financial constraints of collective and personal debt, have stifled our ability to release and promote "Drinking of You" (our debut single).
Our Vision:
A pivotal moment awaits us: producing an EPIC music video, a source of immense pride. Professional digital marketing and strategic guidance are essential to propel our work into the spotlight it deserves. Despite our communal struggles, our commitment to our vision remains strong. Our purpose is simple yet profound – to share music, the universal language, and convey our stories to the world.
Our Debut Single – "Drinking of You":
This emotionally charged single resonates deeply with each of us. It delves into the realm of excessive drinking and relationship fractures, shedding light on escapism, and substance abuse in the entertainment industry. "Drinking of You" fosters an authentic connection with listeners, offering solace without shame to those who've faced similar struggles, whilst remaining tongue-in-cheek in its delivery.
Breaking Stigmas:
Personal battles with drugs and alcohol have been part of our individual narratives, with some of us embarking on journeys to rehabilitation centres in the past. Our aim is to help dismantle the stigma surrounding these challenges and foster open dialogue. Intelligent conversations inspire great creativity.
Pushing Forward:
Life's blows have been relentless, including recent losses and caregiving for ailing parents resulting in 2 deaths in the last 14 months, including our guitarist mother who valiantly battled Stage 4 cancer and passed away only a few weeks ago. Throughout these tumultuous years, music has been our refuge. The music industry is known for its challenges, but with your support, we are resolute in releasing our inaugural single.

Your contribution will directly fund the production of our powerful music video, professional digital marketing, and strategic guidance. Together, we can bring "The Dark Horse" project into the limelight, fostering meaningful connections and breaking down barriers. With the economic struggles we have had to face in the industry, individually and collectively, alongside the unforeseen costs attributed to the creation of our video for our debut single, we find ourselves needing to pay the hard costs of filming, equipment, crew, location and more in the amount of upwards of 25K. Every dollar counts for us at the moment so we graciously are asking for help.
