The Ford Family Fights Cancer!

Donation protected
Hello,
Last October my uncle Kelly was finding it harder and harder to swallow. It became so bad over the next months that tests were conducted and almost instantly doctors discovered that my uncle had stage 3 esophageal cancer. It progressed very quickly from the day of prognosis in early March, with his esophagus closing up completely and resulting in him being unable to swallow anything, including water, by early April.

The Fords are a close family (including married children Kayla & Corson, Tyler & Amy, as well as two grandsons Cayde and Koda) with a very strong faith and they are extremely thankful the cancer has not spread past my uncle Kelly's lymph nodes.

In early April my Uncle ended up in hospital for two weeks and is now home doing day treatments at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and being taken care of at home with my Auntie Joan’s newly found nursing skills. Uncle Kelly is using a feeding tube for nutrition and has been going through radiation and chemotherapy treatments every weekday for the last 6 weeks. Now that treatment is finished, he will be resting and healing from that in order to prepare to go through major surgery to remove his esophagus. Their hope is for full recovery, total cure, and the return to a normal life again.

Even after many years of very hard work with their own painting and decorating business, my aunt and uncle are not prepared to retire. My uncle Kelly endured bypass heart surgery four years ago, which had him resting and recovering and, once again, he finds himself in the same position, unable to work. My aunt and uncle are trying to keep their business going, but until Uncle Kelly is able to be a physical presence on job sites, he cannot draw a monthly pay cheque. They are in need of financial help to pay bills and make ends meet until he is able to return to work.

Their need is simple and they pray that it is temporary. Any amount would be a blessing to them as recently a painting contract they counted on was taken from them due to Kelly’s failing health. They continue to have hope as they look ahead to Uncle Kelly’s healing from the surgery he has coming up. However, Kelly will likely be unable to work for at least the next six months.

Regardless of this being a gofundme, My auntie Joan and uncle Kelly ultimately ask for prayer and would appreciate any loving encouraging and support as they face the worst battle of their lives yet.

Thank you for your consideration.
