The Flood’s Have Leaks

After 48 years of marriage, Jeannie needs help replacing the leaking roof on Solar Wind Farm.

My name is Jeannie. On November 18th, my husband, Geo, passed away. We were married for 48 years, and I’m still trying to find my footing without him.

Geo and I moved to Williamson Valley in 1979, when there were no utilities and only ranchers living out here. We built our home ourselves, piece by piece, living off the grid on solar and wind power. The house has always been a work in progress — it’s still missing flooring and stucco on the CMU walls — but it was ours, and we built it with our own hands.

Since Geo passed, I’ve been facing something I can’t manage alone. The roof has started leaking in several places, and I no longer have the person who took care of all the repairs. I simply don’t have the means to replace the roof on my own, and the leaks are getting worse with each storm. It’s becoming an urgent situation for me and for the home we spent our lives building together.

Asking for help is very hard for me. It’s not something I’ve ever done before. I am younger and would like to stay in my home I’m trying to protect it the best I may.

Every dollar helps more than you know, and even just sharing this link makes a difference. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read, share, or contribute. I appreciate it more than words could express.

“I’m not asking for much — just a little help to keep the home Geo and I built standing.”
