Hello! My name is Shelby McCallister.

I am cutting my hair and donating it in memory of my mom, Ruth McCallister. This is the Second Big Chop in her honor. The first was in 2021.

My mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer when I was a senior in high school (2011). She had a full hysterectomy and chemo, and was pronounced cancer free. Years later in 2019, the cancer came back--and it had spread. Because it had spread, it was inoperable. She passed away in May 2020.

This May will be five years since she passed. That is really difficult to wrap my brain around.

Unfortunately, many of us have had our lives touched by cancer. My wish is to raise money to further research, raise awareness, and aid current patients and families.

In 2021, I was able to raise $3000!!! I am hoping to beat that number this time.
