Hi my name is Olivia Ennis and I’ve started this fundraiser to raise money for a trip to visit The Philippines to provide medical supplies and food as well educational care to the Badjao tribe. The Badjao tribe are an indigenous group in the Philippines. They live in a fishing village off the cost of the city Davao. The Badjao community experience high levels of discrimination and exclusion from society. This results in them often living in unfit conditions, without basic sanitation, running water or electricity. Many Badjao go through life without a formal education and struggle to find employment, making it difficult to feed their families. The main goals of “Embrace Badjao” are to assist them in achieving better education, improved living conditions and increased medical aid. I am hopefully flying over in June to contribute and help this amazing community in any way that I can.
