Our beautiful brother Aaron Fenton gained his wings on July 2nd this year. Az was born with spina bifida, cerebral palsy, fluid on his brain and several other life threatening conditions. The doctors told my mum Aaron wouldn't be able to see or speak, and wouldn't make it past his first birthday. They were wrong!
My amazing brother went on to live 33 although tough and trying, amazing, influential and beautiful years past his first birthday, defying the odds as he always did.
Aaron’s biggest passion in life was music. Whether it be in HMV looking for a new CD to buy, on his Alexa in his bedroom, attending concerts of artists from all genres, singing along to the radio in the car or in a hospital bed when poorly. Music got Aaron through, lifted his spirits in the darkest days and gave him a reason to carry on fighting.
Aaron met and sang live on stage with Michael Jackson. He met many musical artists that were so impressed by his knowledge and passion they invited him backstage countless times. He was a fan of all genres, music was the glue of Aaron’s whole life and led him to have the most magical experiences.
I believe music has the power to help people find joy and comfort in the hardest of times and that's why as a family we are honoured to announce:
The Az Fenton Music Foundation
Aaron spent a lot of time in hospital throughout his whole life, and in his memory we would like to raise funds to have musical therapists go into hospitals and provide musical therapy sessions to children and adults. To help people whose lives have been affected by injury, illness or disability, through supporting their psychological, emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative and social needs.
We would also like to offer funds to local organisations to bring adults with additional needs to concerts & gigs in honour of our Az, and keep his memory and amazing energy alive.
We are going to begin to continuously fundraise for the Foundation, and if anyone would like to make a kind donation towards the cause we would be incredibly grateful.
Please keep posted for our first fundraising event and thank you for your time.
We will never forget you Az x
