Thank you for helping Karen recover from cancer

Hello, we are Fiona, Holli and Leisa, close friends of Karen. She is our dear friend, long time naturopath and registered nurse who has cared for many people throughout her life.

Now it’s our turn to care for her and her family, Mitch, Luka and Sarah. We wish to help them at a time of reduced income and see Karen fully recovered.

In March 2023, Karen discovered a cancerous growth in her tonsils area. With the aid of natural medicine it was contained and prevented from spreading, for which we are very grateful.

However the original tumour persisted and Karen bravely took the help of 3 invasive surgeries over October and November 2023.

The surgeries have been successful but have been extremely difficult. They have left Karen with ongoing pain, numbness, speech and eating difficulties which are expected to take at least 6 months to a year to resolve.

Karen has been unable to work for 4 months and her husband Mitch took unpaid leave during this time, to take care for her and their family. During this time, Karen has also been keeping up wages up to her receptionist who is a single mum.

The surgeries alone have left them with $15,000 out of pocket expenses.

Our hope is to create enough funds to help pay for the surgeries, lost wages and ongoing healing to full recovery.

Karen who lives in Warrandyte Melbourne with her family, would like to be able to access the best of both holistic and conventional medicine, to further and maintain her recovery ..and have the opportunity for more time to rest, heal and plan adventures.
