Help my family cover medical expenses

**As of Sunday, August 20th, my father Anthony Roche Sr. went home to god.

He was surrounded by family and loved ones, and showered with love. We thank you for your outpouring love and support during this difficult time.**

Hi, my name is Chris and I started a GoFundMe to help my family with medical bills relating to my father Tonys medical costs.

Nearly 2 years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 Cirrhosis of the liver. This news completely gutted us and we were given little hope of his recovery and were told to essentially make end of life plans. Miraculously, we were given another option- a transplant. We fought tooth and nail, went to every doctor and specialist we were referred to within 50 miles, and we finally got set up with Einstein, the hospital that would be doing his transplant, nearly 2 hours away in Philly. We went back and forth as often as necessary, got every test needed, and about a year ago, dad was officially diagnosed with liver cancer on top of his cirrhosis.

Even with that diagnosis, we kept our hope and were assured with his diagnosis', a transplant would be even sooner than expected.

We ran into some obstacles, where dad had gotten an abcess on his spine, causing an infection, which he then went septic. Due to that abcess, he ended up going septic twice in one year. Even still, we kept our hope, and waited patiently for the transplant.

Unfortunately, as of two weeks ago, on July 29th, our hope was extinguished when we got the news that dad was now inoperable due to weakened valves in his heart, likely due to being septic and the infection being around his heart 6 months prior, in January.

To hear this after almost 2 years of fighting, was gut wrenching. There are no words to describe the soul shattering effects this has had on me and my family. As of today, August 11th, at home hospice care has been put into place for my father.

At this time, we are asking for donations to help with medical expenses, as his life insurance will only cover funeral costs, when that time comes, and he currently has an outstanding balance of $10,000 at our local hospital where he has frequented.
