Portugal ha ardido.

Y no son solo árboles los que desaparecen…

Son hogares, son animales, son historia, son sueños.

En la Serra do Açor y la Serra da Estrela, el fuego devoró miles de hectáreas.

Nuestro proyecto, Terra Viva, también fue alcanzado.

Perdimos más de 35.000 euros en daños materiales… pero eso no es lo que más duele.

Lo que más duele es escuchar los gritos de los animales atrapados, ver cómo montañas enteras quedaron reducidas a cenizas, sentir el vacío de lo que ya no está.

Y sin embargo, algo resistió.

Nuestro pequeño bosque nativo de castaños y robles sobrevivió.

Mientras los eucaliptos explotaban en llamas, esta reserva verde se mantuvo en pie.

Son solo 2.5 hectáreas… pero son un milagro.

Son vida en medio de la muerte.

Son la prueba de que la naturaleza, si la cuidamos, tiene la fuerza de renacer.

Con lo que aún tenemos de bosque, queremos crear un vivero natural, reproducir más árboles y entregárselos a personas comprometidas, que se encarguen de cuidarlos y expandir juntos los bosques nativos.

Desde aquí podemos replantar, regenerar y devolver a la tierra lo que perdió.

Podemos reemplazar monocultivos de eucalipto, combustible para los incendios, por especies nativas que dan agua, sombra, alimento y protección a la vida.

Necesitamos también unir fuerzas legales y sociales, porque si no nos protegemos con la ley, estos desastres volverán a repetirse en cuanto los eucaliptos y otras especies inflamables vuelvan a crecer.

Pero solos no podemos.

Necesitamos tu ayuda para restaurar lo que se quemó y para plantar el futuro.

Portugal has burned.

And it's not just trees that are disappearing...

It's homes, it's animals, it's history, it's dreams.

In the Serra do Açor and Serra da Estrela, the fire devoured thousands of hectares.

Our project, Terra Viva, was also affected.

We lost more than €35,000 in property damage... but that's not what hurts most.

What hurts most is hearing the cries of trapped animals, seeing entire mountains reduced to ash, feeling the emptiness of what is no longer there.

And yet, something resisted.

Our small native forest of chestnut and oak trees survived.

While the eucalyptus trees exploded in flames, this green reserve remained standing.

It's only 2.5 hectares... but it's a miracle.

They are life in the midst of death.

They are proof that nature, if we take care of it, has the power to be reborn.

With the forest we still have, we want to create a natural nursery, reproduce more trees, and give them to committed people who will take care of them and expand the native forests together.

This native forest will become our nursery.

From there, we can replant, regenerate, and return to the land what it lost.

We can replace eucalyptus monocultures, fuel for fires, with native species that provide water, shade, food, and protection for life.

We also need to unite legal and social forces, because if we don't protect ourselves with the law, these disasters will happen again as soon as the eucalyptus and other flammable species grow back.

But we can't do it alone.

We need your help to restore what burned, to protect what remains, and to plant the seeds of the future.
