Teddy’s Family with vet hospital bills

Hello, Our names are Kristen and Jessica. This is very difficult to write.. We are creating this fundraiser in honor of Teddy , for our nieces, nephew, for our incredible yet humble sister, & the financial strain they’ve taken on in the midst of trying to save their sweet fur baby Teddy.

Our sister, Patti, is a single mom raising 3 children including one with special needs. She is a fighter to her core. A beautiful soul of a woman who lives for Jesus, her church, her children, & is always putting others before herself. She works 3 jobs - 1 including walking, checking in on, & caring for all kinds of fur-babies for Jessie’s Happy Paws.. which makes this story that much more difficult.

A little less than a month ago, our sister’s family came home from being out of town & were met with what would be some of the hardest few of days of their lives. A once vibrant, silly, full of energy, happy go lucky Teddy was not the rambunctious pup they were greeted with.. instead their sweet Teddy looked malnourished, lethargic, & wasn’t eating. At first we all thought it was simply from him missing his family. After hours of not eating or having any energy to go outside(where he loved to be) they took him to the doctors. To their surprise, Teddy was diagnosed with diabetes & pancreatitis. They decided to move forward with treatment because they believed they had caught it in time & because Teddy was still young & healthy enough that he could turn around & be brought back to his playful self. After spending 4 days/nights in the hospital for treatments & testing Teddy had an increase in energy, was able to eat, & looked to be turning a huge corner! He was even released from the hospital to go home, the doctors were that confident. Unfortunately this victory was short lived as Teddy started to decline after being home for not even a full 24hrs. Once they brought him back to the veterinary hospital it was determined Teddy was not going to make it, they had to make the very difficult decision to say goodbye. After all said and done, they are left with broken hearts, what feels like an empty home, & a large financial weight.

Teddy wasn’t just any dog, especially not to our sister & her babies. He came into their lives at time when everything was falling apart & filled a hole in their family they never knew they would need filling. His love mended their wounds & put the broken pieces back together. This loss was quick & unexpected. It pains us to see our family hurt so much & even more to be left with bills for their pup as a suffocating reminder of that day. It’s hard to write this asking for help for our sister as we are not women who ask for help. However, we have faith. We know the power of love & kindness in this world and feel if we can raise even the smallest amount, it will be the biggest blessing. So, we are asking, if you could find it in your heart to donate &/or share this go fund me, even if it’s just a $1 to help our sister, nieces, & nephew find financial relief & healing.. we would be nothing short of grateful!!
