GET TASHI A SERVICE DOG

For those of you who don't know, Tatiana was diagnosed with Fabry's disease 2 years ago. Due to this diagnosis she had to make the tough decision to move back to Vermont so that her mother (a dialysis nurse) could assist her and administer treatment. Also so that she would be closer to more family and her lovely nephews!
Some important information: Fabry disease is an inherited disorder that results from the buildup of a particular type of fat, called globotriaosylceramide, in the body's cells. Beginning in childhood, this buildup causes signs and symptoms that affect many parts of the body. Characteristic features of Fabry disease include episodes of pain, particularly in the hands and feet (acroparesthesias); clusters of small, dark red spots on the skin called angiokeratomas; a decreased ability to sweat (hypohidrosis); cloudiness of the front part of the eye (corneal opacity); problems with the gastrointestinal system; ringing in the ears (tinnitus); and hearing loss. Fabry disease also involves potentially life-threatening complications such as progressive kidney damage, heart attack, and stroke. Some affected individuals have milder forms of the disorder that appear later in life and affect only the heart or kidneys.
Unfortunately Tatiana's symptoms are worsening. She is having to rely on other's to the point it is making it difficult to get through her daily life. We are raising money to get her a trained service animal who could help her in these tasks such as fetching medication or her phone, helping her get up, preventing her from falling, getting help, as well as comforting her in these hard times. The medical bills are challenging enough and a highly trained animal like this is costly.  Anything you can do helps!
