Tanesha's Complementary Therapy

The aim of this page is to raise funds for Tanesha Morris-Clarke, who would like to incorporate some complementary treatments into her ongoing cancer treatment process. Many of you will have come to this page because Tanesha is someone you know and love. If, on the other hand, you have arrived here by chance, on behalf of those of us who do know Tanesha let me begin by sharing a little about why she is loved so dearly.
There are no half measures when it comes to Tanesha, she lives life to the fullest and gives her all to everything she lends her energy to. Her presence in a room is unmistakeably warm, and the cheeky twinkle in her eyes when she smiles could tell a thousand stories. To know Tanesha is to love her because she embodies the true essence of love, which she expresses abundantly in her many roles as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend to all.
Tanesha was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2014, and after undergoing a mastectomy and radiotherapy was given the “all-clear” in January 2015. She started having neck pain in February 2017 and by August it was discovered that she had bone metastasis. Tanesha is now receiving treatment and taking medication for this. In order to further strengthen and support her body through the treatment, with permission and approval from her oncologist, we are aiming to embark on a programme of complementary therapy/medicine.
The programme will be managed by myself, Katherine Tucker, Tanesha’s friend (although she is more like a big sister to me) of 15 years and a holistic nutritional therapist. It says £5,000 because Go Fund Me required a target to be entered but actually there is no limit to the amount we would like to raise here. Quite simply, the larger the budget, the longer Tanesha will be able to continue without financial constraints. The plan will be dynamic and will evolve alongside Tanesha’s progress and hospital treatment. It may include but is not limited to:
- Vitamin & mineral supplements
- Acupuncture (for pain relief)
- Medicinal foods
- Medicinal herbs
- “Clinical Supervision” from an experienced naturopath/herbalist who will oversee the plan and review bi-monthly
I would love to live in a world where nobody struggles to access the things they need to nurture their health, regardless of their circumstances. As blessed as we are to still have access to free healthcare, unfortunately this only covers mainstream medicine and people often find themselves unable to afford to explore a wider spectrum of beneficial treatments. Since this challenging chapter of Tanesha’s journey began in 2015, Tanesha has consistently expressed her intention to live her best life. The funds we raise here combined with her unstoppable willpower and lust for life will help make this happen.
When our loved ones face difficulties in life, we may feel powerless because there is so much of what they’re going through that we cannot change. To that, I say let’s change the things we can. Your generous donations will be received with love and gratitude, and I will make sure they go a long way!
