Help Vickie Crawford Fight Cancer
Don protégé
Family, friends and larger community, we reach out to you today with an urgent call for help. In April of 2018 after suffering months of pain that made it difficult for her to walk and move her leg, Vickie Crawford was diagnosed with advanced bone cancer in her right hip, secondary to breast cancer. Her condition resulted in her no longer being able to work and eventually no longer being able to walk or even sit up.
In addition to the cancer she developed a serious reaction to her medications causing severe digestive damage leaving her insides feeling burnt. For days she threw up even though she wasn’t eating and for weeks after struggled to keep anything down. It was a painful game of trial and error to learn what foods and even what supplemental nutrients her body could tolerate.
As a result of these side effects Vickie has lost a dangerous amount of weight as her body suffers from the continued fight with cancer while lacking the essential nutrients that she needs. Completely bedridden, unable to unbend her legs or move around beyond rolling from her side to her back means she requirs continual care from others just to meet her basic needs.
In the coming weeks Vickie will be undergoing cancer treatments in St. George, Utah. The challenges of traveling while unable to move or afford expensive specialized vehicles or equipment has required a group effort of problem solving and will require physical manpower and support in transporting her to where she will be staying. Family, friends and even strangers have reached out to help in this effort and will be providing a constant stream of daily assistance while she is in treatment.
Vickie’s journey is an effort made lighter by many hands. All can help in some way and the most immediate and direct way is to donate to this GoFundMe campaign. Medical insurance will help with some medical costs, but it will not cover all the expenses and Vickie is on a small fixed income.
She needs help paying for her expenses while staying in St. George.
She needs help paying for her cancer treatments.
She needs help paying for continued living expenses while on a small fixed income.
Every dollar counts. If Vickie’s cheerful smile, her enthusiastic attitude, her hard work, and her sweet goodness have ever touched you, please consider taking the time to show that love back not only by donating to help with her needs but sharing this message with others.
Please share this GoFundMe far and wide. 5 bucks from a stranger matters, 10 dollars from your neighbor makes a difference, every little bit adds up. The more people this reaches the more impact we can have on her life and the outcome of her battle.
Last but definitely not least, please keep Vickie in your prayers and thoughts as she steps into this new and uncertain segment of her life journey.
Thank you for your love, concern and support in her behalf.
With our deepest gratitude,
The Crawford Family
In addition, we know you will have questions and may want to pass on messages of support to Vickie. We will do our best to keep you updated on her progress and ask that you direct questions and messages through the GoFundMe campaign.
