Sweet Baby Girl Selena

On October 19, 2021 Marisol and Jake found out they were expecting their first child. As first time parents, they were extremely excited to grow their family and show them the love they had for one another. To both of their understanding and through their midwife, it was a single pregnancy; meaning only one baby. But to both of their surprise on their first & only ultrasound they discovered she was actually having twins (boy and girl). Like any other parents, they were even more excited to now welcome TWO babies rather than one. They chose to keep their twin pregnancy a surprise to announce to the world once they were here. Both Marisol and Jake only knew about the baby boy, so finding out about their baby girl brought them so much joy.

However, things took a drastic turn of events. Through all that excitement of welcoming both of their babies, they found out that their baby girl had heart problems, but they didn’t necessarily know what they were dealing with. So Marisol now couldn’t have the birth she was set on (water birth with midwife) and now has to have a hospital birth and was considered high risk. On April 1, 2022, Marisol went in for a now normal, weekly check up at 27 weeks, but she wasn’t allowed to come home anymore. Her baby girl heart was going up and staying up. It was hard for both Marisol and Jake to have to stay in the hospital this early on, but they were willing to do whatever to ensure their baby girls health.

On April 13, 2022, Marisol ended up giving birth to her twins. Baby boy naturally, and baby girl via c section. Both baby were placed in the NICU and didn’t see a time coming home till June. Since baby girl had a heart problem she was transferred to Children’s Hospital and baby boy stayed at UW. Now both Jake and Marisol had to share their time between hospitals as Marisol was also recovering from her traumatic birth and delivery. However, baby girls health took a drastic turn and ended up passing away on April 26, 2022 due to sepsis. Baby girl fought every single one of her last minutes on this earth. She went down putting up a fight.

Losing a child is never easy on anyone. Both Marisol and Jake are devastated on the passing of their baby girl. Worlds cannot explain the pain they are going through. We would like to help them both during this hard time to be able to place their baby girl to rest.

All proceeds will be going to both Jake and Marisol.

No parent should have to deal with this pain and still have to worry about finances. Currently, they are still commuting daily from Monroe to Seattle to see their baby boy that is doing very well in the NICU.
