Help Us Walk for the Children of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco – A Journey of Hope
Hi! We’re the Johansson-Hill family – I’m Linda – and we’re supporting our daughter Minah in an inspiring mission. She’s raising money for a once-in-a-lifetime school trip to Morocco, where she’ll be volunteering in helping communities who are still suffering from the effects of the devastating Earthquake which hit this area in 2023.
To help raise funds, our family is taking on a half marathon walk through the rolling hills of Surrey – off the beaten track, and all for a great cause.
We’d be so grateful if you could sponsor us – every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.
Why Morocco?
The Red Cross have done an amazing job in helping communities to rebuild after the disaster, however local school communities still need a lot of help.
Students will engage in a hands-on community project in a rural Berber village in the Atlas Mountains. Typical tasks include digging irrigation channels, building or repairing fences, painting classrooms, and assisting with small construction projects at local schools. The focus is on supporting local education and improving facilities for children in the village. All projects are chosen in consultation with village leaders to ensure the work is genuinely useful and benefits the local school community. The goal is for students to work alongside local people, learn about daily life in the mountains, and leave a tangible, positive impact.
We’re walking for the people and children of these communities and we’d love your support.
Minah is incredibly passionate about this cause, and we’re so proud to stand beside her as she takes on this challenge.
With love and gratitude,
Linda, Minah, and the Johansson-Hill Family ❤️
