Surgery for Hami

Hello, my name is Astrid and 2 weeks ago my husband and I rescued this sweet 10 year old dachshund & Westie mix from his previous owners. We witnessed his owner pin him to the ground and start severely beating him. In that moment chaos ensued, and his owners agreed to surrender him to us stating that they were trying to get rid of him.

We scheduled doctor visits for him to make sure he was okay, but we had to rush him to the hospital prior to his appointment due to him having a lot of blood in his urine. Turns out he has a very big bladder stone that was never treated and a urine infection that had gone untreated for some time. After a few more doctor visits, tests, and xrays, we also learned that he has a grade 2 heart murmur and high liver enzymes.

Long story short Hami will need bladder surgery, an echocardiogram, and will need life long medication for his murmur and liver enzymes. This is where we need your help. We have been able to cover the hospital visits up to this point however upcoming surgery and treatments are going to be a bit more.

We really believe we were meant to be there for Hami and give this sweet and loving senior dog the home he deserves, a safe place for him to live out the rest of his life with nothing but love, happiness, and snacks. He has already become part of the pack with our two other senior dogs and they are inseparable.
