Rodney Haines' Fight With Stage 4 Cancer

As many of you may already know, my dad Rodney Haines has been diagnosed with a type of Stage 4 cancer that has metastasized to multiple parts of his body. It is in his brain, colon, liver, lungs and at the bottom of his spine. The type and source of the cancer is still unknown.
On Sept. 20, he went to the hospital for back pain, dizziness, and a pain in his leg. This was when the seriousness of his condition was realized.
Instantly, he had to relinquish his flight career - a passion he has loved for more than 40 years. That alone would crush anyone’s spirit.
His PET scan showed a mass in both his liver and his brain, and also spots on his lungs. The biopsy performed on Sept. 25 confirmed it was cancer.
The Indonesian medical system requires payment upon any service, and Rod has just completed 20 rounds of radiation treatments - costing the equivalent of $300 USD each.
Within the last three weeks, his health has deteriorated to the point where he can’t walk on his own, his appetite is shrinking and he constantly battles stomach pain, numbness and swelling in his lower body. He must go to the ER to keep his pain under control, sometimes as often as three times a week.
In a perfect world, we would be able to fly him back home to the states ASAP to continue his treatment. The current financial situation prevents us from doing that.
My father is the type of person who would help a stranger, and he’s always been willing to help his family. This is our chance to give back and help him when he needs it most.
