Supporting UpState Al Leon: In Memory of Chris Leon
Don protégé
Our community is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Chris Leon, beloved son of 'UpState Al' Leon, who passed away at the tender age of 46. Chris celebrated his final birthday on April 6th, 2025, before tragically suffering a stroke that led him to be hospitalized. Despite medical intervention and monitoring, Chris became unresponsive, and doctors confirmed he was brain dead. Our hearts are heavy as we share that Chris has left us far too soon.
Those who knew Chris knew him as someone who would literally give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need - that's just who he was. His selfless nature and generous spirit touched countless lives in our community. The world was a better place because of his kindness and willingness to help others without hesitation or expectation of anything in return.
UpState Al has been a pillar of our community, touching countless lives with his presence and dedication. Now, it's our turn to stand by Al and his family during this devastating time. The unexpected loss of a child is an unimaginable burden that no parent should have to bear, both emotionally and financially.
All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to UpState Al Leon to help cover the costs of Chris's final services and ease the financial strain during this difficult period.
USE OF FUNDS:
Your generous donations will help the Leon family with:
- Funeral service expenses

- Immediate family support during this difficult time
Every contribution, regardless of size, will help ease the burden on the Leon family as they navigate through this heartbreaking loss. Your support will allow them to focus on healing and remembering Chris while ensuring he receives a dignified farewell worthy of someone who gave so much to others.
Our pool community has always been a family that supports its own in times of need. Now it's our turn to show the same selfless spirit that Chris demonstrated throughout his life. Please consider contributing what you can to help the Leon family during this devastating time. If you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others would be equally appreciated.
Let's come together to show UpState Al and his family that they're not alone in this difficult journey. Chris would have been the first to help others in need - now we can honor his memory by doing the same for his family.
