Supporting the Frixons

Hello friends and family of Megan, David, Walter, Maisie, and August - affectionately referred to as the Frixon (French & Dixon) family.

As most of you know, Megan and David's eldest son Walter, was diagnosed with an aggressive and terminal DIPG brain tumor on 11/25/22. He and his family were able to share special time together and memory-making in his remaining 3 months. His condition worsened quickly and Walter died peacefully on 3/6/23 at the age of 7. He is missed terribly.

The Frixon family has appreciated using their Caring Bridge website where regular updates are posted: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/walterdixon. The Caring Bridge site will continue to be active in the coming days, weeks, and months to relay support needs and requests. The community remains strong in support of Megan, David, Maisie and Augie as they navigate through this unimaginable situation.

The outpouring of support from friends, family, Walter's school community, and acquaintances has been astonishing!

The Frixons want to ensure all of their supporters know that financial gifts are NOT obligatory or expected by any means. The offers of help, meals, prayers, texts, and love they've received help to make this extremely difficult time a bit more manageable. Still, we understand that some individuals may wish to gift money.

The Frixons have used/and plan to use funds in the following ways:

-Travel expenses for close family and friends to accompany Walter and family on his Make-A-Wish trip in January. (achieved - thank you)

-Special family adventures, outings, or experiences in the next few months. (achieved -thank you)

-Toys or activities for Walter as his abilities and needs change in the coming months. (achieved - thank you)

-Funeral or End of Life expenses

-Donations to nonprofits or organizations in Walter's name.

-Additional and miscellaneous uses at Megan and Davids's discretion, such as general financial support of the family, as needed.
