Hello!

For our class SOC 214 at Michigan State University we have a group projected in which we are tasked to find a social problem that we are passionate to help solve. The social problem we have chosen to focus on is the systematic disadvantage women face across social institutions. In education, gender bias and underrepresentation in fields like STEM limit opportunities. In the workplace, women experience wage gaps, fewer leadership roles, and heavier burdens of unpaid care. Politically, they remain underrepresented in positions of power, while in healthcare their concerns are often dismissed or underfunded. These patterns reflect structural inequalities and cultural norms that consistently disadvantage women across multiple areas of society. To help with this problem, we have decided to set up a Gofundme to support the Women's Shelter of Greater Lansing.
