Hello Everyone!
The UConn Alpine Ski Team has wrapped up another incredible season competing in the highly competitive MacConnell Division! Our women’s and men’s team finished 4th overall. This season took us all over the Northeast, racing at Sunday River, Proctor, Whiteface, West Mountain, Pats Peak, and Waterville Valley, representing UConn with pride every step of the way.
This past weekend, we traveled to Sugarloaf Mountain for the Eastern Regional Championships, competing against the top athletes from the MacConnell, McBrine, Reynolds, and Thompson divisions. We are beyond proud to share that we brought home some amazing results (and some hardware)!
The men’s team placed 2nd in SL, 3rd in GS, and 2nd overall.
The women’s team placed 4th in GS, 3rd in SL, and 3rd overall.
We also had multiple individual top-30 finishes:
Ian Hanrahan – 2nd overall (2nd GS, 2nd SL)
Colby Rathbone – 13th SL
Preston Bolus – 17th GS, 23rd SL
Jack Zipp – 20th GS, 17th SL
Trevor Buckeridge – 24th GS, 30th SL
Hadley Prewitt – 6th GS
Abby Horning – 3rd SL
Kendall Schulz – 20th SL
Regan Chandler – 9th SL, 12th GS
Charlotte Hill – 27th GS
Thanks to our performance at Regionals, we are thrilled to announce that we have qualified for USCSA Nationals at Whiteface in Lake Placid, NY from March 9–14th!
Competing at Nationals is an incredible honor and opportunity, but it also comes with significant costs. Each athlete must cover a $550 entry fee, along with lodging, food, and transportation expenses. Unfortunately, UConn will be making cuts to club sports funding, meaning we will be receiving less financial support than in previous seasons. As a student-run club team, we rely heavily on fundraising and donations to make opportunities like this possible.
Your donation will go directly toward helping our athletes offset these out-of-pocket costs so we can represent UConn nationally. Every dollar raised will be distributed among the team to support competition expenses.
Our friends, family, alumni, and supporters have always shown up for us, and we are so grateful. If you’re able, please consider donating to our GoFundMe and sharing our fundraiser with others. Every contribution, big or small, truly makes a difference!
Thank you for helping us continue this journey and represent the Huskies at Nationals. We couldn’t do it without you!
Let’s go Huskies!
