Topher Coggin and the Coggin Family Need Our Help
Topher Coggin is 18 — a Slidell High graduate, talented baseball player, and lifelong member of Sports U. He’s also a living with Diamond-Blackfan Anemia, a rare genetic disorder that affects his bone marrow.
Recently, his bone marrow transplant led to a brain bleed due to low platelets. Topher has since undergone surgery and is in the ICU. His parents, Brian and Holly Coggin, have been by his side every minute doing all they can to keep him stable and comforted.
How You Can Help Financially
The medical bills are only part of it. There are countless expenses that come with being in a hospital full-time, travel, food, time off work, and around-the-clock care needs. If you're able to give financially, it helps ease some of the burden so they can stay focused on Topher.
How You Can Help with Platelet Donation
Topher urgently needs platelet donations — more than ever before. If you're healthy and at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent) and meet the weight requirements (110 lbs for 17+, 130 lbs for 16), you might be eligible.
Platelet donation takes about 2 hours
You’ll need a quick blood test first if you’re a new donor
Appointments are required
Be sure to mention: "Directed donation for Topher Coggin"
Whether you give, donate, or share — it matters. Thank you for lifting up the Coggins during this time.
