Tom Mattison of Inkster, Michigan, is in critical condition after being involved in a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at the corner of Avondale and Inkster Road. Tom's daughter Emma was also hit by the same vehicle. Both Tom and Emma are currently in the hospital. Tom is in a coma, and Emma is listed as stable. Tom had surgery yesterday due to swelling on the brain.

This crisis has shaken everyone who knows Tom. He lost his mother about a year ago this month, and family means everything to him. He talks about his two young daughters constantly. Tom is also a father to Lacey, his other daughter, and Tom is unmarried and lives alone with his two daughters. Now, while Tom remains hospitalized and unable to work, the financial pressure of everyday life will continue to grow at the same time his family is facing this traumatic emergency. The road ahead will be long and hard for Tom and his family.

Tom is a teacher, a supporter of local theater and the arts, and someone who performs and directs shows. He also serves as the Associate Producer for Destination Adventures, helping bring individuals from all over the country together to compete in games. So many people know Tom as someone who gives his time, energy, and heart to others.
