We are raising money to help us realize our vision for Three Pillars Park, the green space we are creating under the pedestrian overpass at Prospect and Greenwood Avenues in Windsor Terrace, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY.
Our team includes Samuel Robinson and Line Kaasine of Field Form, a company that has built over 200 gardens in New York City, and Biana Varga, an urban naturalist and long-time neighborhood resident.
We are so grateful for the volunteers from our community who have cleaned up and planted with us already.
The money we raise will go partially towards covering the expenses we have made out-of-pocket, including almost $1,000 in plants. However, our vision extends beyond that. We would like to:
- fix the cobblestone in the areas where it has caved in to keep visitors safe
- put in more plants to make the park lusher, greener, and more beautiful
- install lighting so that the park can be used after twilight
- make or buy benches so that visitors can relax
- get paint so that we can add some color and art
- ensure that we can get soil amendments and mulch to keep our plants healthy
- add edging to the planting bed to keep the soil contained
- create a second entrance to make the park easier to visit
- build a permanent supporting stand for our water barrel so it doesn't fall over
