Hello, my name is Diana. It is incredibly difficult to explain the anxiety, agony, and uneasiness of what my husband and our family are feeling at the moment. This is not a theoretical situation that some use to sympathize with immigrants facing a flawed immigration system. This is a very real, deplorable fate that we hope no one ever encounters. Imagine getting deported, leaving your wife, your kids, and everyone you have known since 1992, (he was brought into the United States as a small child with his parents) leaving from the only country (United States) you’ve ever called home.
I am reaching out for help during an incredibly challenging time in our lives. My husband and I have been together for over 13 years. Ivan and I met when we both were 23. We are blessed with 4 amazing children (19,15,9 and 6). We never pursued his citizenship, believing our marriage and my U.S. citizenship were sufficient.
In 2024, a tragic event shattered our lives. It's been heartbreaking to watch my husband being in immigration jail, losing significant weight and enduring unimaginable hardships.
On June 2024, ICE picked him up from jail, and he has been in immigration holding since then. The process has been grueling and costly, drained our savings since I’m the only one working to support our family. The appeal can be quite the process and take up to 2 years. My husband is now facing deportation to Mexico, a country he hasn’t seen since 1992, with no resources there.
I cannot let him face this alone. My kids and I plan to move to Mexico to support him. The financial burden has taken a severe toll on me, leaving me feeling battered and broken.
I am humbly asking for your support to help cover the cost of my flight, passports applying for several types of visas (dual citizenship) for Mexico, and to assist us in getting back on our feet in Mexico. Starting over in a new country is daunting and expensive, but we made a vow to each other that we will be family through thick or thin! He is an amazing father and husband.
Your kindness and generosity can make a significant difference in our lives. Dealing with deportation is an unimaginable burden, but with your support, we can navigate this difficult journey together. Please consider donating and sharing our story with others who may be able to help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support.
