My name is Maria Barlow, and I am helping organize this fundraiser on behalf of the Ariola family as they face the heartbreaking loss of their beloved son and brother, Esmeraldo Ariola Jr.

Esmeraldo Jr. was born on September 1, 1999, in Pangasinan, Philippines. He was kind, loving, and selfless son, brother, and child of God. His gentle heart and unwavering faith touched everyone who knew him.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Esmeraldo Jr. underwent heart surgery at Los Robles Regional Hospital. Despite the family’s prayers and his incredible strength, he passed away on Friday, October 17, due to complications following the procedure. He leaves behind his widowed mother, sister and four brothers.

The family has already endured unimaginable loss — both his father and older brother passed away from the same heart condition. Their greatest wish now is to bring Esmeraldo’s body home to the Philippines so he may be laid to rest beside his father and brother.

The Ariola family is facing tremendous financial hardship and humbly ask for your support to help cover the travel expenses, allowing the family to hold a memorial service in the Philippines and return Esmeraldo’s remains to his homeland.
