Sri Lanka Needs You. Ditwah Has Taken Everything.

Cyclone Ditwah struck Sri Lanka with unimaginable force. As the world watched in fear, our tiny island in the Indian Ocean faced one of the most destructive storms in its history. What began as heavy monsoon rains turned into a catastrophe no one was prepared for.

Entire communities have been swallowed by relentless flooding and landslides. Families who went to sleep in their homes woke up to find everything gone. More than 600 lives have been lost, and hundreds of people are still missing, leaving families in unbearable uncertainty.

Over 1.3 million people across 25 districts have been affected. 20,000 homes have been destroyed. 108,000 people—including infants, elders, and parents who carry nothing but the clothes they fled in are now living in temporary shelters.

UNICEF reports that over 275,000 children are caught in the middle of this tragedy. Children who should be in school, laughing, playing, dreaming—are instead struggling to survive.

Parts of the country are still without electricity or clean drinking water. The President has called this the most challenging natural disaster Sri Lanka has ever faced. The destruction is so wide-ranging that rebuilding will take months, even years.

But right now, families need food. They need clean water. They need medicines, blankets, school supplies, and above all—hope.
