Support Shayla Fight Against Diabetes & Kidney Failure

Hello all,

First, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank and bless everyone that clicked my link because now that means you get to hear my story. My name is Shayla and I am 33 years old.

Shayla's Diagnoses

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 12 years old. Ever since then, it's been an uphill battle to maintain this disease and unfortunately, I was diagnosed with stage 5 Kidney Failure on March 12, 2024. It shattered my world. Since that day, it has been back to back doctor visits and curating treatment plans.

I am currently on daily dialysis which has drastically changed my quality of life and my ability to work. By God's good graces, my oldest sister is a potential match and we are awaiting test results. Even still, I'm currently on the donor wait list for a kidney and pancreas. My great team of doctors and caretakers are hopeful that I'll receive them soon and has ambitiously given me a projected surgery date between Thanksgiving and Christmas of this year, 2024.
