It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Herlinda Ruiz, beloved mother of Investigator Ruben Pequeño, a dedicated member and former co-chair of our community task force. Herlinda’s passing has deeply touched all of us who have come to know and respect Ruben for his passion, leadership, and constant commitment to serving our community.

Ruben has always been a tireless advocate for others—working to uplift vulnerable families, promote safety, and build unity through compassionate service. Now, during this moment of personal loss, our task force wants to give back to one of our own by helping him and his family provide a dignified farewell to his mother.

We are hoping to raise funds to assist with funeral and memorial expenses for Herlinda Ruiz, allowing the family to focus on honoring her memory and celebrating her legacy.
