We are utterly devastated and heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Reese Whitney. There are no words to express the loss we are experiencing, and thank you for your prayers and love. Reese Whitney entered into heaven’s glory on September 25, 2026, at the age of 21.

Reese was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, friend, and firefighter. He was strong, full of life, and had a smile that could light up any room. He was a man who was always willing to help and never backed down from a challenge.

Reese was a third-generation Vista Grande Hotshot who took great pride in protecting his community and working side-by-side with his brothers in fire. He was full of a natural charm that made everyone feel special. Truly a gentle giant with a tender heart of pure gold. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, Idyllwild, and the entire fire community. His impact, dedication, and brotherhood will never be forgotten.
