Help Defend Innovation, Fairness, and the Future of Equine Healthcare
My name is Rebecca Haddock, founder of EquiTecs Equine Technologies Institute. For almost two years, I’ve been fighting a relentless legal battle that now threatens everything I’ve built—and the progress I’ve made for horses and practitioners everywhere.
Here’s the truth:
When I leased the Equi-Tape trademark, the brand was declining. I invested my heart and soul to revive it, building a community that trusted me—not just a name.
Through years of research, I saw the limits of traditional kinesiology taping. I created a new biomechanics modality, based on science, repeatable results, and the safety of the horse.
That’s when the threats began. Dr. Beverly Gordon demanded my new modality either bear her name or not be released at all. Each time she threatened legal action, I tried to address her concerns—providing documents, changing what she asked, and even offering to pay her attorney fees.
But her demands kept growing. When my attorneys told me there was no negotiating with her, I removed all references to Equi-Tape from my business—website, app, social media, products—fully complying with every legal demand except the illegal seizure of my assets.
Now, Dr. Gordon is suing me to take my company, my digital assets, and to force me into a non-compete that would silence innovation and stall the evolution of equine healthcare.
This lawsuit is not about trademark infringement. It’s about weaponizing the legal system to crush those who can’t afford to fight back—even when the courts have already ruled that business assets and goodwill belong to the business owner, not the trademark, unless a contract says otherwise.
I am a single mom and a small business owner. I cannot afford to defend myself alone. If you believe in fairness, in supporting small business, and in the future of equine healthcare, please help me defend my rights and my company. Your support will help cover legal defense costs and protect the progress we’ve made for horses and practitioners everywhere.
From Rebecca Haddock
So many of you know me—not just as a business owner, but as someone who has educated you, spoken with you on the phone or a virtual call, or helped you through difficult times when your heart horse was in pain. You know my commitment to helping horses and supporting this community. I have always been there for you, no matter the time of day or night—answering texts or phone calls, even in the middle of the night, when you needed me.
Now, I desperately need you. If I’ve ever helped you, if you believe in what we stand for, please help me defend my rights and continue this work. Your support—whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or sending encouragement—means more than I can say.
Thank you for standing with me, and with all those who care about the future of equine healthcare.
