Hello friends,
Raven, my sweet 5 year old husky and best friend, will be having a TPLO knee reconstruction surgery on February 6, 2026.
After a handful of primary vet visits, x-rays, consults with orthopedic surgeons and even second and third opinions later- we have confirmed a CCL tear (cranial cruciate ligament) in her left, hind leg. Reconstructive surgery is the only option.
This is similar to an ACL tear in humans.
Unfortunately our pet insurance, Embrace, will not cover any associated medical costs and is labeling this as a preexisting condition.
The many visits, medications, pre-and-post operative care, along with the surgery itself are adding up swiftly.
With additional unknown costs to come, as physical therapy may be needed as a part of her recovery and rehabilitation process.
As of now, the cost to date is $4800, with the possibility of additional costs at a later time.
Any help is sincerely appreciated. Truly.
Whether it is donating, sharing, or most importantly, keeping Raven in yours prayers during this time.
My hope is a full recovery and regaining quality of life. So we can continue backpacking, exploring, and experiencing life together, to its fullest. ❤️
I will provide updates as this progresses. And if you have read this far, Raven and I thank you.
