Hi, my name is Fernanda Hanner, and I’m a mom asking for help for our little baby boy JJ. Our son suffered a brachial plexus injury at birth (nerves that originating from spinal cord in the neck) caused when he became stuck in the birth canal for several minutes. As a result, his left arm was injured, and since his first days of life, he has faced challenges no baby should have to endure.

After 7 months of therapy, appointments, and constant hope, doctors have now confirmed that he needs surgery to improve his chances of regaining movement and strength in his arm. This surgery is time-sensitive and critical for his long-term development, independence, and quality of life and will be performed early march of 2026.

The medical expenses are overwhelming. Between:

• Surgery costs

• Specialist visits

• Occupational therapy

• Travel and post-operative care

The financial burden has grown beyond what our family can manage alone. As parents, it’s heartbreaking to watch your child struggle and feel powerless to fix it on your own. We would do anything to take this pain away from him and this surgery gives us hope for his future.
