Mi historia con fe y esperanza:

Hola, mi nombre es Otilia P. Oviedo, y hoy comparto mi historia con humildad y mucha fe. Estoy enfrentando una difícil batalla contra el cáncer de lengua, y estoy usando esta plataforma para pedir tu ayuda solidaria. Los gastos médicos han sido muy altos, y mi seguro no cubre muchos tratamientos ni medicamentos esenciales.

Todo comenzó en diciembre de 2024, cuando noté un pequeño bulto en mi lengua. En enero de 2025 me confirmaron que era cáncer. Desde entonces he pasado por múltiples cirugías mayores, incluida la remoción del 40% de mi lengua, apertura de cuello completo para retirar ganglios, reconstrucción con tejido de mi brazo izquierdo y cobertura con piel de mi pierna.

En mayo me sometí a una cirugía más, y ahora me enfrento a una nueva masa bajo la mandíbula que podría ser una recurrencia del cáncer. Por esta razón, mis tratamientos de radiación fueron suspendidos y me preparo para una nueva cirugía muy pronto.

God Bless You – Help Me Fight Tongue Cancer

Hello, my name is Otilia P. Oviedo, and today I want to share my story with you with humility and hope. I am currently fighting a difficult battle against tongue cancer, and I’m using this platform to ask for financial support to help cover medical expenses that my insurance does not fully cover.

It all started in December 2024, when I noticed a small lump on the left side of my tongue. It quickly turned into an open sore with intense swelling and pain that made it very hard to eat. In January 2025, I was diagnosed with tongue cancer. At first, it seemed small and treatable, but things became more complicated.

On March 25, I underwent three surgeries. They removed 40% of my tongue and opened my neck from ear to ear to remove lymph nodes. During the surgery, doctors found two additional cancer spots on the left side. My tongue was reconstructed using tissue from my left arm, and skin from my left leg was used to cover the area on my arm.

In May, I had another surgery on the right side of my neck to remove new masses. Thank God, those turned out to be non-cancerous. However, just recently, doctors found a new mass under my left jaw, which may be a recurrence of the cancer. Because of this, my radiation treatments had to be stopped, and I am now preparing for another surgery in the coming weeks.

This journey has been incredibly painful, physically, emotionally, and financially. Even though I have health insurance, many expenses are not covered, such as co-pays, medications, specialized care.

That’s why today I’m reaching out to you in faith, asking for any financial support you may be able to offer.
