Support Oliver’s Recovery from Emergency IVDD Surgery
Donation protected
On June 3rd, 2025, my dog Oliver suddenly suffered a herniated disc that left him partially paralyzed. He was rushed to Sugarland Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care, where he was diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) — a spinal condition that’s unfortunately common in dachshunds and similar breeds. IVDD causes the discs in a dog’s spine to bulge or rupture, putting pressure on the spinal cord and often resulting in severe pain, nerve damage, or paralysis.
Oliver needed emergency spinal surgery right away to relieve that pressure and give him the best shot at walking again. Thankfully, the surgery was successful. He’s currently recovering in the hospital and will need to stay there for a few more days before beginning 4–6 weeks of strict crate rest and around-the-clock care at home.
The total cost of his surgery and treatment is $10,500. I’ve set the goal at $11,000 to help cover the hospital bills and the recovery expenses that will follow.
I’ve had Oliver since he was just under a year old. He’s not just a pet — he’s my companion and one of the most consistent sources of comfort and love in my life. I wouldn’t normally post something like this, but the truth is I can’t afford this alone, especially in today’s economy.
If you’re able to donate, I’m beyond grateful for anything you can give. And if not, sharing this link or sending a prayer for Oliver’s recovery means just as much.
Thank you for being here.
