For Nina Lopez, life has always been about family and the soccer field. She and her husband, Candelario Lopez, have built a life grounded in love, faith, and community. Together with their five amazing children—Diego (19, a student at Texas State University), Briseya (15), twins Julian and Lucas (12), and Emilio (10)—the Lopez family can almost always be found at a soccer field. It is their second home, a place filled with laughter, muddy cleats, and the kind of joy that comes from simply being together.

But recently, everything changed in an instant. Nina has been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.

Her Journey Ahead:

Nina now faces a long and difficult road ahead. She will undergo weekly chemotherapy treatments for the next six months, immunotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy surgery. These treatments are aggressive and will require her to step away from work and daily life so she can focus fully on healing and recovery.

Why They Need Our Help:

While Nina bravely fights this battle, everyday life for a family of seven doesn’t pause. The Lopez family is now facing:

-Back-to-school costs for four kids beginning a new school year

-College expenses for their oldest son, Diego, as he continues his journey at Texas State University
