On my 32nd birthday, I am calling on support from all friends and family for a training that I believe will deeply change not only who I am but also communities at large. I have received a generous $2000 scholarship and am now asking for your support as I endeavor to cover the remaining costs.

Deep Remembering is an immersive ancestral earthskills-based program. In addition to developing survival skills, it teaches folks how to understand, reconnect with, and soothe their own nervous systems, rekindle ancestral wisdom, and live in true reciprocity with community. The work is physical, spiritual and communal—spanning a ten month period with seasonal 4-day in-person immersions like "ancestors, grief, and shadow," "building fire and shelter," and "village living & foraging."

I feel deeply drawn to this work because it ties together everything I’ve been studying, sensing, and healing over the last decade—how story shapes identity, how protection and masking take root, what true nourishment feels like, and how intuition and sensitivity can be both a gift and armor. Over the years, I’ve explored many paths toward wholeness—nonfiction writing, yoga, dance, therapy, community living, earthskills gatherings, communication and coaching work, plant medicines, solo adventures, and family healing. Each has offered a fragment of the larger picture. This program feels like the place where those threads can finally be woven together—where I can be supported in bringing compassion to every part of myself and learn to hold space for others to do the same.

I have applied to several grad school programs in therapy, education, and the arts, and none of them has excited me the way the way this program has. Unlike most formal education, Deep Remembering treats students to a whole-human education. This is not the kind of course where you walk away with a degree. It does not dovetail neatly into a career. Instead, participants walk away more present, resilient, and alive.

Past participants have noted: "This class has done more for me than years of therapy ever have." Others have said: "I’ve never experienced community or myself like this. It is the deepest healing. I am relieved because I feel like it has handed me my time, my days, the rest of my life...to live compassionately and vibrantly, in connection with the present moment and all within it. I feel it has given me my most loving, compassionate, conscious self. I feel patient and kind with myself and others.”

It's the kind of education I wish for everyone. And I intend, by attending, to incorporate what I learn about regulation, resilience, and community care into my existing offerings: in mediation, youth education, and vocal expression, not to mention my relationships with family, friends and beyond. It will make me more resilient, more self-compassionate, and more willing to consider leaning into the discomfort when my body, or my mind, or my heart long ago once learned to pull away.
