Hello! My name is Dr. Benjamin Berghorn and I’m writing to share some exciting news and to ask for your support in helping me take a major step forward in my growth as a professional.
This summer, I’ve been accepted to attend the 19th Annual Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar, one of the most respected and competitive programs for trumpet players in the world. Held each year in Enfield, New Hampshire, the Seminar brings together a small group of highly dedicated musicians from around the globe for two immersive weeks of study, performance, and collaboration.
At Chosen Vale, I’ll have the rare opportunity to study with an extraordinary faculty of internationally renowned trumpet artists and teachers, including principal players from major orchestras and celebrated soloists. The program includes daily lessons, masterclasses, ensemble playing, and one-of-a-kind experiences like contemporary music workshops, natural trumpet training, and in-depth conversations about building a sustainable career in music.
For me, this isn’t just a summer program—it’s a pivotal opportunity to sharpen my artistry, connect with inspiring mentors, and join a global network of musicians who are shaping the future of our field. I know that the lessons I take from Chosen Vale will resonate in my playing and professional journey for years to come.
While I’ve received a merit scholarship for support from the program itself to offset some of the cost, there is still a remaining tuition balance that I am responsible for of $2,500, plus travel expenses. I’m reaching out to people who believe in me and my musical path to ask for help in making this opportunity possible. Any contribution—no matter the amount—would make a real difference.
I would also be happy to share more about the program or my musical journey with you.
Thank you so much for considering this, and for being part of the community that helps make opportunities like this possible for professional artists like myself.
With gratitude,
Benjamin Berghorn, DMA
