Just three days after celebrating her 30th birthday, our beautiful, funny, cat-loving friend Mina got the news no one ever wants to hear: she has breast cancer.

It started with finding a lump, then doctor visits and tests that confirmed the diagnosis. The good news? It was caught early and doctors believe it has not spread to her lymph nodes. The hard part? There’s still a long road ahead with surgery, treatment, and a lot of unknowns.

Mina and her husband, Trevor, have been looking forward to their honeymoon in Wales but now they are navigating medical bills, time off work, and the emotional weight of cancer while their three cats do their best to keep spirits high (and mischievous).

Trevor is a freelancer in the film industry, where work and income fluctuate. Mina does have some sick time and leave from work, but this will only last so long as treatment and recovery will almost certainly stretch beyond what’s covered. That’s where community support becomes so critical.
