Support Mike Foster's Children in Their Loss
Donación protegida
Just an update:
There is an account (it's safe, the wrong people don't have access) set up at River bank. Previous donations left and money put into cards for the kids at the Celebration is with Steven and Samantha, not sure what will be done with that. However if you'd like to continue to help, as some have stated, and don't know how or don't want this platform to have their % taken out (it's very very little, just FYI and we made up the difference), please put it into the account their adult sister Allison set up. Again, it's safe, and she is extremely trustworthy and loves them dearly, and has demonstrated that more than anyone else that I've seen. Unfortunately the system isn't doing them any favors at all, and they're still in a rough situation. We're working VERY hard on that. I'm in contact with the kids daily and see them regularly, give rides, bring things, ect. If you'd like to help with the legal fees, it would be greatly appreciated. If you want to pitch in other ways, don't hesitate to reach out. We've been making sure we've gotten clothes, groceries, even helping with other things, without the funds previously raised. So, we will continue to make sure the most important things are covered one way or another. There's still some things being asked for that are wants and not needs (I asked the kids for ideas as I'm also trying to do nice things for them beyond meeting basic needs) if you're interested in that, I can tell you what to look for to add to our little stash of items we're collecting. Also we are getting the oldest a new phone for Christmas as that's the only thing he's asked for, and we see it as a necessity for safety in this situation. The current one is outdated and has no service. It will be a prepaid straight talk phone, so even the 45$ phone cards for the coming months would be nice for him (Jack and I will get them ourselves as needed but putting it out there for anyone wanting to contribute). I was going to add him to our new plan when we start it, but we won't be able to switch for another 2-3 months and he needed one now. Please feel free to reach out for Allison's contact information as well if you need. She'll be moving to the area as soon as she can manage, and I'm doing things for/with the kids in her stead until then. I'll update on the lawyer we retain as soon as possible. Thank you.
Hello Everyone.
As some may have heard, Mike Foster passed away, leaving behind his children whom now are without their father. This is already so traumatic for young kids, and now they will need all the support they can get so they can have a service to help them grieve this loss. I'm sure they'll need more support in the near future, but for now while other things are getting worked out, I at least wanted to reach out to our community to make sure this is a possibility for these children. It's the very least we can do to help. Mike had full custody of his kids, and there wasn't any life insurance. I'll be connecting with others in the community to see what else we can do. For now, I'd at least like to help in this way. For the kids.
So, updating this to let everyone know, the kids' immediate family member will have access to these funds, not someone else (I think we all know who is being referenced here). Anything left after the family has their private funeral, will go towards the Celebration of life, which is open to the entire community. After that, it will go into a bank account for the kids (if there's anything left after everything else). That account will be hopefully set up early this coming week. I'm going to look into fundraising more money to add to that account.
I'd also like to thank everyone on behalf of the children and family. What you're doing is making a difference for them. It's appreciated more than you'll ever know.
