Michayla is an outgoing, loving, and extremely ambitious 11-year-old girl. She is the sister of an older brother and a younger brother and is often referred to as "mother hen." She loves spending time with her friends and family, but one thing she is most passionate about is being in the show ring with her pups!
In May of 2025, Michayla was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer: Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS). Due to the rarity of this type of sarcoma, treatment is challenging, as it does not respond to traditional chemotherapy. Michayla underwent surgery in May of 2025 to remove the initial tumor that had been found within her biceps muscle, causing her to lose a large portion of that muscle. Unfortunately, her scans three months later showed the cancer had metastasized. Numerous nodules were found on her lungs. Her oncologist immediately started her on an oral form of TKI therapy, which after three months has shown to be ineffective in stopping the growth. Michayla has now started Immunotherapy IV infusions. She received her first infusion yesterday (12/15/25) and could not have been more brave throughout the entire process. Michayla has shown us the true meaning of courage and strength.
As a family, we are asking for spiritual and financial support as we navigate through these uncertain times. Between hospital visits, travel, and unexpected time off work, the financial strain has grown. Any donations received will be used to alleviate some of this so we can focus on helping our little warrior fight this horrific disease and give her the best chance possible at a long, happy, and fulfilled life.
