Support MHS Robotics in Internationals Competition
The Robotics Club at Malden High School is a six-year-old club consisting of 11 bright minds—hailing from six different countries—who work together in competing in the annual Botball competition, where teams of high schoolers from 50+ countries participate to build robots on their own and program them with a strategy of their own in C or Python code in order to solve a challenge representing a real-life scenario. This year, the challenge was to earn points by dispatching help to a city struck by a terrible storm, with possible options including rescuing the mayor off of a skyscraper, bringing water to a burning skyscraper, rescuing injured and non-injured people, and others. The MHS Robotics Club cooperated to successfully win the regional tournament (New England tournament) for this year’s challenge and advance to the five-day-long international competition in Oklahoma this July—GCER 2019.
However, the club currently lacks the funds to send their team to the competition and gain the opportunity to take home a title that will make history for robotics in Malden High School, so we are starting this campaign to provide sufficient funds for the team to send a few of their members to represent the most diverse high school in Massachusetts at GCER.
